Your responsibilities when saving media, and how to request a takedown.

How BskySuite works

BskySuite hosts no user media. Its tools read publicly available posts through Bluesky's public AT Protocol API and pass the original file, already served publicly by Bluesky, to your browser. Nothing you download is stored on our servers, and no copy is retained after your request completes. Content from private or protected accounts is not accessible.

Your responsibilities

A post being public is not the same as a licence to reuse it. The media you save through these tools belongs to whoever created it, and you are responsible for how you use it.

  • Permitted: saving public media for personal use, such as offline viewing, personal reference, or archiving your own posts.
  • Requires permission or credit: republishing someone else's media, using it in your own content, or any commercial use.
  • Not permitted: presenting someone else's work as your own, redistributing it at scale, or using downloaded media to train AI or machine-learning datasets.

If you are unsure, the simplest course is to ask the creator or credit them clearly with a link back to the original post.

Reporting infringement

Because BskySuite stores no media, there is normally nothing on our servers to remove. If the content is hosted by Bluesky, the effective route is Bluesky's own DMCA process, since only they can remove it at source.

If you believe material on the BskySuite website itself infringes your copyright, contact hello@bskysuite.com with the subject line "DMCA" and include:

  1. Your name, address, and contact details.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you say is infringed.
  3. The exact URL on bskysuite.com where the material appears.
  4. A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  5. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act for them.
  6. Your physical or electronic signature.

Our response

Valid notices are reviewed and acted on within 10 business days, usually sooner. Material found to be infringing is removed. Counter-notices may be submitted to the same address if you believe material was removed in error.

Blocking requests

If you are a rights holder and would prefer that your content not be retrievable through these tools, contact us. Bear in mind that BskySuite only surfaces what Bluesky already serves publicly, so restricting the post at source on Bluesky is the more reliable remedy.
